About the project
Activated immediately following the March 2025 earthquake, the Reach, Relieve, Recover (RRR) initiative delivered rapid, community-centred recovery across impacted townships in Central and Upper Myanmar. Working closely with local community teams and civic volunteers, the initiative addressed acute priorities within 48 hours by channeling rapid microgrants directly toward essential emergency relief, debris clearance, and Psychological First Aid for 3,065 affected individuals. Transitioning from emergency relief to long-term rehabilitation, the programme financed critical household repairs, communal sanitation units, and essential sanitary vouchers for 650 women and girls, while delivering four multi-purpose community hubs and 34 climate-resilient transitional shelters. To anchor sustainable recovery, the initiative paired cash-for-work opportunities with technical instruction in safer vernacular building techniques, establishing a community-owned model for disaster preparedness and local resilience.
