Myanmar Times: Yangon back alley becomes secret garden

Most back alleys in Yangon are one thing and one thing only: rubbish dumps.
Residents from higher floors usually throw their trash out the window and onto the growing pile of refuse below. As a result, the city’s back alleys are more fitting for rats and flies than humans.
“This is the most difficult problem for us ward administrators,” said Pabedan township ward administrator U Kyaw Linn Aung, who has been in the job for 10 years.
